January 1 – New Year’s Day – All City offices and services closed

Week of March 12 – Cemetery Clean-up – anyone wishing to save decorations should remove them before this date

March 17 – St Patrick’s Day Parade 1:00pm – Main Street – Corned Beef & Cabbage Meal at the Fire Station following the parade

March 24 – Easter Egg Hunt 1:00pm – James Knox Park  – RESCHEDULED to March 31 1:00pm

March 30 – Good Friday – All City offices and services closed

Week of April 9 – Citywide spring clean up on residents’ regular trash day

May 1 – Dog & Cat Tags go on sale at City Hall – due by May 31

May 5 – Fishing Derby 1:00p-3:00p – James Knox Park – Fish Fry 12:00p-2:00p

May 28 – Memorial Day – All City offices and services closed

May 28 – Memorial Day Bicycle Parade

June 1 – Wheel Tax Stickers go on sale at City Hall

June 6, 13, 20, 27 – Summer Band Concerts at Central Park – 7:00p – bring a lawn chair – area churches will have an ice cream social at each concert

June 8-9 – Citywide Yard Sales – start at 8:00am – set up in own yard – contact City Hall to add your sale to the list – lists will be available to the public the week of the sale

June 30 – 5th Annual Big Bang Brain Trivia Night for Knoxville Fireworks Fund – registration 5:00, event 6:00 – Knoxville American Legion – call Barb Slaton 309-299-3322 for more info

July 4 – Fireworks at dusk – James Knox Park (rain date July 5) – Band Concert at 7:30

July 10-14 – 168th Annual Knox County Fair – visit www.knoxfair.com for details

August 4-5 – Piecemakers Bi-annual Quilt Show “Summer Nights” Knoxville High School – call 309-335-7839 for details

August 25 – 14th Annual Car Cruise – Public Square 4:00-7:00

September 3 – Labor Day – All City offices and services closed

October 5 – Knoxville High School Homecoming Parade 2:00 & Football Game

Oct 6-7 – Knoxville Scarecrow Contest in conjunction with Knox County Scenic Drive – contact Ange Lee 299-9056 for details

October 31 – Trick or Treat 6:00p-8:00p

November 22 – Thanksgiving – All City offices and services closed

November 23 – Friday after Thanksgiving – City Hall closing 12:00 – all other City services open all day

December 1 – Knoxville Christmas Parade – 1:00 (to enter parade contact Dee Hurd 309-221-6467)  Santa will be at Hurd’s Fellowship Center after the parade to greet children. Cookies will be available.  Luminaries at dusk around the town square.

December 24 – All City Offices and services closing at 12:00 noon.
